Intensive Casework/Family Services
The Intensive Casework/Family Services Program is an in-home, family focused service that gives the family an alternative to out-of-home placement.
The Intensive Casework/Family Services worker will assist the family in:
- Identifying family strengths and issues
- Setting goals and developing treatment plan
- Implementing activities to accomplish goals
The Intensive Casework/Family Services worker will provide the following in-home services:
- Provide individual and family counseling
- Mediate family conflict(s)
- Support and review goal progress
- Teach life skills
- Provide 24-hour on-call crisis intervention as part of an on-call team with other agency staff
The Intensive Casework/Family Services worker will also assist in the following mentoring, advocacy, and outreach services:
- Attendance with youth/parent(s) at school, court, DHS offices, and/or supplemental agencies, as appropriate
- Identify and coordinate community resources to benefit family and youth
- Youth/family job development and search activity
- One-on-one mentoring with youth
Services will accommodate the family school and/or employment schedules. The typical number of home visits by the Intensive Casework/Family Services worker is three per week the first month, two per week the second, and weekly thereafter. Average length of the program is between six and nine months.
